Brasília - The government of South Korea's Ministry of Information and Communications has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Communications worth US$1 million for the creation of a Brazil-Korea Cooperation Center for Information and Communications Technology. The memorandum was signed by ministers Helio Costa and Daeja Chin.

Through the center Brazil and South Korea will seek to set up an information society focused on research, development and collaboration. The center will be located in Brazil and it will operate at least three years. The two countries will also run an exchange program for experts and technicians. In February a work group will be established to begin to work out the details of the center's activities.
