Indian women takes office at the National Education Council

Brasília, 10 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Yesterday minister of Education, Paulo Renato Souza, presided over the ceremony in which new members of the National Education Council (CNE), took office. Among the new members of the council is Francisca Novantino Pinto de Ângelo, a Pareci Indian. According to minister Souza, her appointment to the council is a "historical landmark," which will promote "greater social and racial equality in Brazilian education." (AB)
