Brasília, 10 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - A technical mission from the European Union (EU) arrives in Brazil today to evaluate Brazilian animal sanitation inspection, especially with regard to disease control. This is the first such evaluation, checking to see if Brazil mets EU norms.

One disease to be evaluated is mad cow disease, which is not considered a danger in Brazil because cattle are pasture feed.

The mission will visit slaughter houses, ration manufacturers, laboratories and cooperatives in the states of São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul. (AB)
