Brazil and Indonesia to increase trade in farm produce

Brasília, 5 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Agriculture, Pratini de Moraes, said yesterday, after a meeting with the minister of Industry and Commerce of Indonesia, Roni Soewandi, the tendency is for the two countries to increase trade in the near future. The ministers have agreed to set up an exchange program on information on products such as coffee, alcohol, sugar and soybeans.

Indonesia is interested in importing machinery for grinding, roasting and packaging coffee, and will send a mission to Brazil with that purpose in mind. Indonesia will send another mission to learn about the Brazilian technology of mixing alcohol with gasoline. Indonesia is also interested in increasing imports of Brazilian sugar, as it imports 50% of its domestic consumption, and soybeans. (AB)
