Brasília, 2 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - On Saturday, before embarking for Johannesburg and World Summit on Sustainable Development (Rio+10), president Fernando Henrique Cardoso declared that Brazil has a strong proposal for reducing pollution: "We believe every country should get 10% of its energy from renewable sources," he said.

Cardoso said everyone is responsible for the environment, but the responsibility is different because it is only fair that big polluters pay more than countries that pollute less.

Cardoso added: "The rich nations must join the poorer countries to combat poverty." (AB)
